Dealing With Yeast Infections

Yeast infections during the holidays can
be more of a problem due to stress, poor
eating, etc. I'm always looking for tried
and true ways of healing. I recently
found this info that I thought would
be helpful....

Natural Immune Booster to Share

I love to feel good! I hate being sick!
That's the whole reason I got into this field
30 years ago. I used to get sick at the drop
of a hat all the time. Then the cold or flu
or sore throat would last for a long, long time.

Now, at the age of 50 I never get sick!
I love that!

Here's a formula I used to use all the time:
1 small white onion
5-6 cloves fresh garlic
1 habanero pepper (hot!)
1/2" fresh horseradish
1/2" fresh ginger
raw apple cider vinegar (Bragg's is good)

Fill you blender with all the stuff and
add enough vinegar to cover. Puree it for
a few minutes. Store in a glass jar, covered,
in the frige. Take a tablespoon every day
and 1 teaspoon every hour when you feel
something coming on.

Eat a piece of bread or cracker if you have
a sensitive stomach since this stuff is
very, very strong!

Great health always!

Childrens Health is Out of Contrtol

This month has been a busy month...being
new in town I join lots of different groups,
visit all the local health food stores,
attend every conference to get a feel of
the town.

It saddens me that out of all the places
in the United States I've visited, there
is such a huge gap between the health care
system and the healing system.

I was curious about this gap so I took a
survey of about 75 people to find out what
they knew about health. Close to 100 percent
believed in alternative medicine and the
right to use alternative therapies.

But when I asked them if they had used it
only a mere 25% said they had.

The other challenge was they didn't know
where to look for reliable alternative
medicine information. Some even said they
would look in the phone book.

Wow!

I figured with the internet, everyone's
response would be to just 'google' it.

Guess that was an eye opener for me,
and I've been in the biz for 30 years!

So I'm making plans to close that gap.
I'm on the search to find ways to get
this option out to people. I'm not
saying alternative medicine is for
everyone, but it definitely needs to
be out there.

Plus I'm offering information from a
biblically based perspective. Meaning
using herbs as medicine, food as
medicine, hot and cold therapy, etc

When I recently attended a conference for
children with autism (Save Our Kids, Save
Our Planet)I would say that most of the
young moms were definitely interested in
learning how to use alternative medicine
to heal their children.

They just didn't know their options.

As a result, they didn't realize when they
feed them certain foods, even if its
labeled 'natural' that it might be doing
them harm.

They might not realize how the cleaning
supplies they use is harming their children's
health, or vaccinations and their side effects.

There's More To Healing ...
I raised all my children using the natural
products I could, without vaccinations, home
births, homeschooled, etc. and they still got
ear infections, bronchitis, coughs, colds, flus, etc

What did I do wrong?

It wasn't that I wasn't feeding them well,
even though we lived in the sub-freezing
temperatures of Wisconsin...the marriage
wasn't the greatest. The family was not
supportive of the way I was raising my kids.
Lots and lots of strife!

Sadly, it ended in a nasty divorce that had huge
repercussions on my children over the years.

But I did learn something which is what I want to
share with you my friends....

Eating well is a good thing.

Exercising daily is a good thing.

But don't neglect the spiritual and emotional
well-being of your self OR your children.
They need tons of nurturing to be totally
healthy. When YOU don't have enough to give,
and bickering, conflict, irritablity are the
norm for your family...this will cause more
damage to your children than you can imagine.

Take care of yourself. Seek the peace that is
necessary for your marriage. When there's peace
in the home, the children are happier. You and
your spouse are happier. Then, health is much
easier to attain.

Until next time,
Dr. Judy

It's a Whole New Way of Life

I just had a visit with someone this week totally new
to this 'way of life'. She had never heard of using
specific herbs, juices, enzymes or foods for healing.

I forget we're in the 21st century sometimes!

Herbs have been around since the beginning of creation
but we've totally stepped away from using them for
real healing. Yes, we take them as supplements for
long term use, but they are so much more than that!

Christians think all this herb, juicing, etc stuff
is hooey. But food has been used as medicine for
centuries, NOT drugs! NOT surgery!

I find that using a common sense approach, without
being fanatical works well. In my 'younger' days
(I'm now 50 y.o.) I would jump on every supplement
bandwagon to see if it would help my current health
challenge.

They all seemed to help for awhile, but I learned
it was a combination of supplements, emotional
well-being, and focusing back on God's ways (i.e.
love, joy, peace, etc)that eventually healed me.

Makes sense right?

Difference Between Soy Protein and Whey

Recently I was checking out the smoothie selection
and they gave me a choice of soy protein or whey.

I love having a high powered protein drink but
didn't realize they were now giving us choices.
That's good news for us!

Soy Protein
Obviously is made from the soybean, but I almost
always get a slight stomach ache from it. It's a
very hard bean to digest anyway so I tend to shy
away from them.

In my clinic, when dealing with womens health issues,
I actually found it beneficial for the women to get
off of all soy products. Too much phyto estrogen?
Maybe. Personally, I think any food that is a
concentrate and difficult to digest puts too much
stress on the liver. That's where the problem lies.

Getting back to the protein...

whey protein is derived from milk. Its basicaally a
a diluted byproduct of the cheese-making process.
Good for those who can digest milk products on some
level. Can be beneficial for the digestive tract.
One of the best forms I've seen is from Jay Robb's
brand. I've met him personally and you can see
he practices what he preaches.

For a high packed protein drink, I would stick
with whey.

Feel Good Focus

Why does everyone focus on their disease?
Do you ever notice how some people go into
excruciating detail about their latest
doctor visit - the results - on and on...!

Please!

I'm not interested in how many aches and
pains you have when we're out relaxing
at the beach!

Maybe it's a doctor thing. I've learned
not to tell anyone I'm a naturopathic
physician now. It used to be a badge of
honor when I first opened my clinic to
brag that I work as a naturopath and the
director of a alternative health clinic.

But after 15 years, I'm not so vocal about
it because everyone starts asking me what
to do about their chronic conditions.

Although...I have noticed that some people
seem to enjoy talking about their illnesses
to anyone who will listen.

Are people lonely?

Is that why they think others are interested
in hearing the sordid details?

My take on this is to stay focused.
Staying focused on feeling well, being around
people who talk about other things than
their health, or on Godly issues.

I was just at another conference. This time
it was with Rick Joyner's crowd and was amazed again
that the immediate focus during prayer time was healing
physical pain. Hours and hours of praying
for people's pain. I didn't last there long.

Most people were grossly overweight which
would be the first thing I would pray for.
More strength and wisdom to learn what it
takes to lose the weight and feel great.

Let's get focused friends!

My focus is on feeling good every single
day so I can do what God wants me to do
for that day.

Until next time,
Judy

The Church Has Become a Hospital

While on my one week trip to Barbados,
I attended a church conference. People from
every part of the Caribbean Islands attended.
I heard excellent messages from pastors from
the United Kingdom, Guayana, Trinidad,
St. Maarten and more.

Worship was excellent!!!

The very last pastor to speak on the very
last night of the conference started out
his talk by saying,

"The Church has become a hospital"

I was astounded as a I listened to this
servant of God saying the same exact thing
I have been saying for years.

You see, when I travel to different churches
and the very first piece of paper that is
handed to me at the door is the list of
people I need to pray for who are sick....
I have a problem with that!

What has happened to Christians knowing how to
take care of their diseases?? What has become
of prayer when all we focus on is the disease?
Doesn't this just make satan so happy when
we're distracted from doing the work in God's
kingdom we have been created for?

My vision is to teach Christians how to
regain their health using God given tools
such as food, herbs, how to pray specifically.

I hope and pray people will want to learn
the truth about healing so we can move forward
in being disease free.

Until next time,
Judy

No-No Nutritionals

Yesterday I had someone come in asking about the
best nutritional supplements for overall health.

I asked if she had about 5 hours!

It's become so stinking complicated!
You can't just go into a health food store
for a simple multi vitamin supplement anymore.
Everyone, including me, is immediately
overwhelmed by the choices!

This particular client was looking for B vitamins
since she heard they're supposed to be good for
stress relief.

Do you know how many B vitamins there are?
There are 8 water soluble B's.

However, are the vitamins made from a food
source (the best) or synthetic (the worst)?
Are they made with fillers like magnesium
stearate? Cellulose? etc.

Here's what I've learned...
if the nutritional supplements are not made
from a food source, I don't buy them.
I just can't see putting synthetic anything
into my body. It's just not worth it.

If the bottle costs me more than $50 I put
it right back on the shelf. I know I'm only
paying for a name, or fancy packaging. I know
that won't help my health much.

If it has a funny smell to it (think drug
store) I return it. Anytime I open a bottle
of supplements, I smell it. If it's herbs or
enzymes (my 2 maintenance type supplements)
I know it will have an earthy smell or no smell.

Once just for fun, I held up a bottle of these
synthetic, filler based nutritional supplements
to a baby's nose (about 2 years old). She
immediately turned her head and made a scrunched
up face. Then I held an orange up to her little
nose and she eagerly grabbed it. Then, I held
up a bottle of yucky, earthy smelling herbs to
her and she grabbed it.

Ok, it's not the most scientific experiment but
I do believe that we've lost touch with what's
good for us. We get caught up in the media hype
(think melatonin, sam-e, etc) and forget to
pay attention to what's inside the bottle.

Until next time,
Judy

How Well Do You Feel?

I get up every morning and praise God that I have
another day to work in His kingdom. But it certainly
wasn't always that way!

At 18 years of age, I had chronic fatigue so bad
that I had to have a nap every day. And it wasn't
because I was partying all night! It was because
I just couldn't seem to get through the day.
As years went by, I felt tired all the time.

I knew something had to change so I began
hanging out at the library (no internet in the
'old days')! I got every book I could that might
offer some clue as to why I was always so tired.

Then I went to a seminar with Dr. John Christopher,
a master herbalist. Just the way he spoke, carried
himself, his passion... I don't know exactly what
it was but I believed what he said. I knew that I
knew that there was something this man was saying
that was rock bottom truth.

His big kick then was that constipation was one
of the main issues why people were sick.

I rarely had a bowel movement more than once a
week at that time, but I didn't make any connection
until he started to explain how important it was
to go at least everyday, preferably after each meal.

I learned years later that all the emotional stress
I was experiencing went right to my stomach and
bowels. I would tighten up in my stomach area whenever
I took a test ... was in an argument...or experiencing
any stress at all.

So I started using Dr. Christopher's herbs, which
helped a great deal to get my bowels regulated. But
if I stopped taking the herbs, the problem would
still be there.

I also noticed that when I went hiking, camping,
traveling, I had regular bowel movements. Why?
Because I was more relaxed!

As I learned over the years how to take care of
my chronic constipation issues, I had tons more
energy! Could there really be a connection?
I sure have found out that there is.

Now, years later, I know that herbs, eating in a
relaxed environment, dealing with stress differently,
all make a huge difference in my energy level.

Now, at 50 years of age, I feel I can tackle bigger
projects because of my increased energy level.

Here's to the next 50 years!
Until next time,
Judy

Dani Johnson had a Heart Attack!

I just got through reading Dani Johnson's book,
'Spirit Driven Success' and was impressed with
her passion, enthusiasm, and zest for life.

But she had it tough for many of those years.

At one point of her life, she said,
"I had a heart attack at 24, a nervous
breakdown at 25, and a fatal heart
condition at 30". (p 175)

Wow!

Talk about a physical wreck!
And this was when she was a millionaire!
Was it worth it?

She even goes on to say that those health
conditions were a result of the consequences
from her lifestyle.

Listen folks, making money is great. No
argument there. But not to the deteriment
of your health! All the money in the world
is not worth it if you end up in the hospital
with tubes up your nose, arms, etc.

Dani does go on to say that she had to learn
how to be obedient to God's ways to regain
her health.

When you are in alignment with God's ways,
you have peace.

You have your health.

You're blessed.

Get your focus right by taking the time
to learn what you need to do for your health.
God wants you well so you can work in His
kingdom. You were created for that very
purpose.

Spend time with Him to learn what it takes.

Are Naturopaths Quacks? Or Witch doctors?

Although I haven't had too many people ask me this
straight in my face, I've certainly had it told
behind my back many times.

Why?

Because as Christians, we don't know how to
categorize naturopaths. Are they 'new age' if
they talk about alternative medicine? But what
about when they start quoting the scriptures?
Does that make them ok?

I'm a classical, traditional naturopath. Now
that we have that straight, what does that mean
exactly?

I believe that God gave us the ability to heal
using His tools. That means at times laying on
of hands is called for. At other times, it
simply means we need more rest and eat better
food! But at all times, I believe that the laws
of His word have to be heeded, otherwise there
are consequences. Such as...eat a little honey,
that's ok but too much will make us vomit.

I don't mix 'new age' ideology into my business.
I believe energy work (which includes Reiki) is
out and out dangerous for Christians to use.

I believe that practicing yoga opens Christians
up to trouble. It's subtle, deceptive, and right
up the enemies alley in tricking us into believing
its just another form of exercise.

There are so many ways to heal our body that
God has already given us. All we to do is be
diligent in using them consistently.

Until next time,
Judy

What Will it Take for Christians to Have Total Health?

You pray over your meal.

You pray for others who are sick to be well.

You pray for healing in your own life.

But are we obeying the laws God has put together
to keep our body in total health?

Today I woke up feeling a bit drained. I had
gotten up early to try a spinning class (not
for me thank you!) and was feeling the effects
of only 6 hours of sleep.

I know I can function today, but the sluggishness
is there. Did I break a law from God?
Nooooo, not in any bible verse that I see.
But I did break the natural sleep cycle that
God created for me to function at top notch speed.

Now I could drink coffee, eat chocolate, or
take extra B vitamins to try to give me false high.
I can pray the Lord give me strength to get
through the day. Or I can just simply suffer
the consequences and realize tomorrow is
Saturday and I can catch up on my rest then.

Too often, we look for a quick fix even in the
spiritual realm. There are consequences to all
our actions. Sometimes we just need to tough it out.

Once we're back in alignment with God's will
for us, our body gets happy! We're well rested.
Not worried because we know God is taking care
of all our needs. We're eating God's simple foods
instead of processed man's food.

Guess what happens?

No pain. No disease!

That's been my personal experience as well as
for those who come into my office and decide
they want to stay focused on all God has for them.

Until next time.

A Cancer Test You Must Know About

I just got this in my email today and am in
full agreement with it. I'll post it today
and make comments about it later.

SIGNS OF OVARIAN CANCER
(Even In The Absence Of Ovaries) An Eye-Opener On Ovarian Cancer

THIS IS A MUST TO READ TO THE END
I hope you all take the time to read this and pass it
on to all you can. Send this to the women in your life
that you care about.

Years ago, Gilda Radner died of ovarian cancer. Her
symptoms were inconclusive, and she was treated for
everything under the sun until it was too late. This
blood test finally identified her illness but alas,
too late. She wrote a book to heighten awareness.
Gene Wilder is her widower.

Kathy's Story: this is the story of Kathy West

As all of you know, I have Primary Peritoneal Cancer.
This cancer has only recently been identified as its
OWN type of cancer, but it is essentially Ovarian Cancer.

Both types of cancer are diagnosed in the same way, with
the 'tumor marker' CA-125 BLOOD TEST, and they are treated
in the same way -surgery to remove the primary tumor and
then chemotherapy with Taxol and Carboplatin.

Having gone through this ordeal, I want to save others
from the same fate . That is why I am sending this message
to you and hope you will print it and give it or send it
via E-mail to everybody you know.

One thing I have learned is that each of us must take
TOTAL responsibility for our own health care. I thought
I had done that because I always had an annual physical
and PAP smear, did a monthly Self-Breast Exam, went to
the dentist at least twice a year, etc.

I even insisted on a sigmoidoscopy and a bone density
test last year. When I had a total hysterectomy in 1993,
I thought that I did not have to worry about getting any
of the female reproductive organ cancers.

LITTLE DID I KNOW. I don't have ovaries (and they were
HEALTHY when they were removed), but I have what is
essentially ovarian cancer.

Strange,isn't it?

These are just SOME of the things our Doctors never
tell us: ONE out of every 55 women will get OVARIAN
or PRIMARY PERITONEAL CANCER.

The 'CLASSIC' symptoms are an ABDOMEN that rather
SUDDENLY ENLARGES and CONSTIPATION and/or DIARRHEA .

I had these classic symptoms and went to the doctor.
Because these symptoms seemed to be 'abdominal', I went
to a gastroenterologist. He ran tests that were designed
to determine whether there was a bacteria infection; these
tests were negative, and I was diagnosed with 'Irritable
Bowel Syndrome'. I guess I would have accepted this diagnosis
had it not been for my enlarged abdomen. I swear to you, it
looked like I was 4-5 months pregnant! I therefore insisted
on more tests.

They took an X-ray of my abdomen; it was negative. I was
again assured that I had Irritable Bowel Syndrome and was
encouraged to go on my scheduled month-long trip to Europe .
I couldn't wear any of my slacks or shorts because
I couldn't get them buttoned, and I KNEW something was
radically wrong. I INSISTED on more tests, and they
reluctantly) scheduled me for a CT-Scan (just to shut
me up, I think). This is what I mean by 'taking charge
of our own health care.'

The CT-Scan showed a lot of fluid in my abdomen
(NOT normal). Needless to say, I had to cancel my trip
and have FIVE POUNDS of fluid drawn off at the hospital
(not a pleasant experience I assure you), but NOTHING
compared to what was ahead of me.

Tests revealed cancer cells in the fluid. Finally,
finally, finally, thedoctor ran a CA-125 blood test,
and I was properly diagnosed.

I HAD THE CLASSIC SYMPTOMS FOR OVARIAN CANCER,
AND YET THIS SIMPLE CA-125 BLOOD TEST HAD NEVER
BEEN RUN ON ME, not as part of my annual physical
exam and not when I was symptomatic. This is an
inexpensive and simple blood test!

PLEASE, PLEASE TELL ALL YOUR FEMALE FRIENDS AND
RELATIVES TO INSIST ON A CA-125 BLOOD TEST EVERY
YEAR AS PART OF THEIR ANNUAL PHYSICAL EXAMS.

Be fore warned that their doctors might try to
talk them out of it,saying, 'IT ISN'T NECESSARY.'
Believe me, had I known then what I know now,
we would have caught my cancer much earlier
(before it was a stage 3 cancer). Insist on the
CA-125 BLOOD TEST; DO NOT take 'NO' for an
answer!

The normal range for a CA-125 BLOOD TEST is
between zero and 35. MINE WAS 754.
(That's right, 754!). If the number is
slightly above 35, you can have another
done in three or six months and keep a close
eye on it,just as women do when they have
fibroid tumors or when men have a slightly
elevated PSA test (Prostatic Specific Antigens)
that helps diagnose prostate cancer.

Having the CA-125 test done annually can alert
you early, and that's the goal in diagnosing
any type of cancer - catching it early.

Do you know 55 women? If so, at least one
them will have this VERY AGGRESSIVE cancer.
Please, go to your doctor and insist on a CA-125 tes
and have one EVERY YEAR for the rest of your life.

And forward this message to every woman you know,
and tell all of your female family members and
friends. Though the median age for this cancer
is 56, (and, guess what, I'm exactly 56, women
as young as 22 have it.

Age is no factor.

A NOTE FROM THE RN:

Well , after reading this, I made some calls.
I found that the CA-125 test is an ovarian
screening test equivalent to a man's PSA test
prostate screen (which my husband's doctor
automatically gives him in his physical each
year and insurance pays for it). I called the
general practitioner's office about having the
test done. The nurse had never heard of it.
She told me that she doubted that insurance
would pay for it. So I called Prudential
Insurance Co, and got the same response.

Never heard of it - it won't be covered.

I explained that it was the same as the PSA test
they had paid for my husband for years. After
conferring with whomever they confer with, she
told me that the CA-125 would be covered.

It is $75 in a GP's office and $125 at the GYN's.
This is a screening test that should be required
just like a PAP smear (a PAP smear cannot detect
problems with your ovaries). And you must insist
that your insurance company pay for it.

Gene Wilder and Pierce Brosnan (his wife had it,
too) are lobbying for women's health issues,
saying that this test should be required in our
physicals, just like the PAP and the mammogram.

Is there a Spiritual Connection Between Diseases and the Body?

As I'm preparing to put my online school on the
internet, I realized this point has to be addressed.

Everyone I've ever worked with in changing their
lifestyles to heal their diseases has a spiritual
issue going on. Everyone.

There's a few people now saying that they too are
seeing the connection.
Dr. Cheryl Townsley
Pastor Henry Wright
I know them personally and they agree that the
thousands of people they have seen definitely
have a spiritual connection with their disease.

The most common one I see is anger and the organ
that is most effected is the liver. The liver is
in charge of the fat metabolism, cholesterol producing,
hormone balancing, converts glucose to glycogen,
stores vitamins, filters toxins, and many more
functions.

When we get angry, this organ is the most effected.
If we stay angry, it starts wearing the liver down
even more.

The result?

Tired, sluggish feeling is the first sign. Lowered
immune system, sleepless nights, etc. If the anger
continues to hold on, the body reacts by going into
a disease state. Depending on where the weakest part
of your body is, I've seen this lead into heart
disease, diabetes, cancer, and all those heavy
hitting diseases.

I've found that letting go and letting God is easier
said than done. It's daily walk, but a step toward
letting God take over is absolutely essential for
a healthy body.

Back From Caribbean Church Conference

I just got back from Curacao - a tiny island in the
Caribbeans between Aruba and Bonaire. There was a
church conference put on by the Caribbean Worship
Institute with speakers there from all over the
world. Pastor David Durant from Barbados, Alicia
Liverpool from St. Martin, Vivienne Hibbert originally
from New Zealand....powerful, powerful teachers!
Worship leaders! Anointed!

This is the second year I went. The first year
was good, but this year was better by far. Other
attendees said the same thing. Maybe it was where
our hearts were... to receive the fullness of the
power of the Lord.

I had wonderful words of wisdom from these leaders.
It's SO refreshing to be filled with edifying words!

I don't care how well you eat, how much exercise you
do, how much money you spend on supplements...if you
don't have the fullness of God in your heart, you
are dry!

I'm all for being a good steward of your body as
those of you who know me. However, there is a strong
sense of having the Lord working in your heart each
and every day that MUST be present to feel on top
of the world!

If you are not feeling Him...or can't hear His voice
at this time....or not having the 'peace that passes
all understanding'...seek Him out!

I traveled 3,000 miles to search out this special
time with the Lord. Could I have had this time in
my own backyard? Yes, the personal time would be
there no doubt about it.

But when the anointing, teaching, edification is
strong in leaders with those gifts, it's time to
seek them out to learn more!

As the disciples followed after Jesus faithfully,
and then continued with the apostles, they were hungry
to hear the truth. To get healing. To have a touch
on their wounded hearts.

The churches in this country (USA) are not reaching
their flock anymore hardly. Pastors don't know the
names of their flock. Members don't take the time to
listen to one another. No one visits the sick in their
home anymore. Is it any wonder the Christians are
suffering from so many diseases?

Christians are a Sick Bunch...Why Can't They be Healthy?

I just don't understand why Christians insist on
eating whatever they want. This is what I hear
in my office...

"I just pray over the food and figure the good
Lord will bless it to the nourishment of my body"

PLEASE!

How can God go against His own law?
He created man to be able to eat and digest
proteins
fats
and carbohydrates.

When a pizza and diet coke are served,
yes it has proteins, fats, and carbs...but
can your body digest it???

Obviously the before meal blessing is not
working and God will not go against His own
handywork.

People come to me asking why they eat the
pizza and soda (or some similar junk food)
and wonder why they have
diabetes
high blood pressure
or other diseases plaguing them!

My belief is that having junk food once in
a blue moon is ok - but Christians must get
off their fat behinds to take notice of their
health! Eating God given, digestible food
like fresh vegetables, meat/fish, whole
grain bread is the way God intended.

As Christians, we need to be examples to the
world as to our passion and energy for Him.
We can't do that if we are constantly stuffing
our face with garbage and then suffering the
consequences with diseases.

Let's take a hard look at our health and
get it right with God!

Until next time,
Judy

Does Gastric Bypass Work?

I was watching the 60 minutes segment on how gastric
bypass surgery has 'helped' so many people. Seems they
gave a great boost for surgeons to jump on the band
wagon! At only $25,000 a surgery who wouldn't?

But wait... does gastric bypass really work?

According to the reporting done, not only does it
help with weight loss, but diabetes as well.
So of course, a surgeon in Brazil is now doing
bypass surgery just for diabetics!

Look folks, you were created with a stomach for
a reason! It has important acids to help you
break down your foods into usable proteins,
carbohydrates, and fats that your body is
supposed to use.

When you elect to have a surgery that takes
most of your stomach out, you can have side
effects like:

• An iron and vitamin B12 deficiency occurs more
than 30% of the time. About 50% of those with an
iron deficiency develop anemia.
• The connection between the stomach and the
intestines narrows (stomal stenosis) 5% to 15%
of the time, leading to nausea and vomiting after eating.
• Ulcers develop 5% to 15% of the time.
• The staples may pull loose.
• Hernia may develop.
• The bypassed stomach may enlarge, resulting in hiccups and bloating.

"Ten to 20% of people who choose this option have to have follow-up operations to correct complications (abdominal hernias being the most common), and more than one third develop gallstones from the rapid weight loss."

Other common side effects of gastric bypass:
• Nausea and Vomiting
• Dehydration
• Food Intolerance
• Changed Bowel Habits
• Cold Intolerance

"An unpublicized side effect of gastric bypass
surgery is excessive flatulence."

.... oh, and you can die from this surgery!

60 minutes didn't
mention that list did they???

A better method is to use a very low cost,
effective tool that has been around since God
created man... self-control.

Have problem with self-control?

Then that's another issue.

No more meds!

Have you read ALL the side effects of the
medications you're taking?? If not, why not?
The next time you're near any pharmacy, just
ask them to print out the list of side effects
of the meds you or your loved ones are on.

If you're not shocked at the side effects list,
then you're not really in tune with what's
going on. Let's get you up to speed...

I believe that all meds will cause harmful
side effects. From destroying your liver,
to persistent coughs, they destroy your body.
Personally, I'm into healing the body.
I'm into feeling great without meds.
I'm into giving YOU the tools to live a
life free of disease!

Ok, back to reality.

Most people believe that at some point in
their life they have to be on meds.
I just can't see it.

Why not use food as your medicine?
What about using God given herbs?

More and more, people are frustrated
that their medications are not working,
but then they're confused about what can
work for them to heal them.

Here's the secret:
=> if the herb is not pure herb, then it
can be just as bad as a medication!

If the supplement is not 100% food based,
it's not going to be assimilated by your
body.

There was a woman who came in to see me last
week and told me that anytime she took a
supplement with magnesium stearate, she would
swell up like a ballon. What is magnesium
stearate?

University of Texas Health Science Center and the East Carolina University School of Medicine reveal that these toxic excipients cause a rapid collapse of T-cell membrane function and cell death; therefore suppressing the immune system. (Immunology, 1990, Jul.)

Over 90% of supplements contain magnesium stearate
or stearic acid - which is type of salt and commonly
used as a filler.

Read your labels folks!

Replacing supplements for meds is not always the best
solution. The best is to slowly, slowly wean yourself
of meds, with the help of your doc (if they're open to
it, if not find another doc!). Then do lots of juicing
and eating of greens that will give your body the
tools it needs to heals from natural sources!

Until next time,
Judy

Thank you 60 Minutes!

Yep! 60 minutes confirmed what I've been
saying for years! Sleep (also known as 'rest')
will help to:
~ keep your body metabolism so you don't eat so
much (did you ever notice how you eat more the
more tired you are?)

~ keeps your mind sharper
(the 400 college kids studied remembered way less
information if they had only 4 hours of sleep -
so much for pulling those all nighters!)

~ having 7-8 hours of sleep also showed it kept
disease away. After only 6 days of sleeping four
hours a nite, young healthy college kids showed
the first signs of diabetes! In only six days!!!

Listen folks, sleep is absolutely essential.
it's the natural cycle God created in us to
help our body repair and rebuild itself. Nothing
is more essential than a good night's sleep.

There are lots of ways to get great sleep:
Here are just a few:
~ don't eat late at night
This is the time your body needs to rest! Eating a
heavy meal makes your digestive system work overtime
which is why you wake up groggy the next morning.
If anything, eat a light fruit and a few raw nuts.

~ Relax a few hours before bed.
Cleaning the house at night is not the best thing
to do before bed. Taking a hot bath, going for a stroll,
watching a funny movie, all help to relax your body
before you catch those zzzzzz's!

~ Drink a cup of hot camomile tea
This is one of those teas that is perfectly safe
to drink and has nice mild flavor. A small dab of
honey makes it even more flavorful. A cup or two
throughout the day is nice to have to keep your
body calm and even keeled. An hour or two before
bed will make for a sound sleep.

So with all the studies that the medical
establishment is doing on the necessity of
7 to 8 hours of sleep, I would strongly encourage
you to work on getting your hours in.

Until next time,
Dr. Judy

7 Things that Can Keep You from Experiencing Great Health

Now that we've laid the foundation of good health,
let's look at those things that can keep you from
enjoying great health...

1) Lack of Joy -
I was at a church conference where the speaker asked
how many were worried about their finances. I knew
many of the people in the audience because they had
been in my office as patients. I also knew that most
of them had beautiful homes, at least 2 cars, and
more clothes than a person can wear in a life time.
Where was their joy? Worried about money? More clothes?
In Acts 2, the people gave ALL their possessions to
those in need. Joy comes from giving of yourself.
The more you hoard, the more your bored! It's no
fun playing with your 'toys' by yourself. It's way
more fun sharing what you've got!

2) Lack of prayer -
When a study of the centanarians (those who live
to 100 years or more) this made the top list. Prayer
for themselves, with others, for others. How many
times do we offer our prayers to those we meet?
A strong prayer life has been proven to help with
surgery both before and after.
Read Prayers that Availeth Much for ideas on how
to pray and what to pray for.

3) Not paying attention -
When you're not paying attention to our health,
things can happen. And quickly!
When you're experiencing a headache, pay attention
to why you're having the headache. Reaching for the
aspirin is not the answer. Focus on why the headache
is there... lack of sleep? Lack of good fresh food?
Worried? Deal with what is happening in your body
immediately before it gets too serious.

What is "Good Health"?

In 3 John 2 it says:
"Beloved, I pray, that in all respects you may
prosper and be in good health, just as your
soul prospers".

Many Christians are searching for answers
for the cause of their disease. Or looking
how to prevent major disease in their life.
They turn to yoga for exercise, energy work
for healing, ayurvedic medicine for supplements,
vegetarianism for a new way of eating - and
the list goes on.

In my 30 years of working in Alternative
Medicine I have never seen any of these healing
methods work totally. And I can add hundreds of therapies
to that list that have failed miserably as
well.

Then why are Christians turning to them?

Because there IS a measure of success with
these methods. Otherwise people would not
be using them. But the fullness of health
that God wants us to have doesn't come from
these modalities. The Lord wants us to be
free of ALL diseases, but not at the price
of putting a way of eating/healing before HIM.

The focus must be on feeling good each and
everyday we walk in His kingdom. Did I say
feeling excellent?? Noooo, there's definitely
days that we might suffer from minor colds,
headaches, fatigue, etc. But on the whole,
our health can be at a level far and above
what we're experiencing

To achieve this level of health there are
3 components that most of us are familiar
with - physical, emotional, spiritual or
body, mind, spirit. But I like to go deeper.

Most of us like to go the simple route of
finding out what supplement or medication
to take to get rid of an ailment.

The challenge with that is that nine times
out of ten, the disease comes back!
I like it when the disease leaves and NEVER
comes back. YEAH!

So the true meaning of "good health" is
to be free of diseases, have the peace of
God that passes all understanding, and feel
joyful!

Until next time,
Dr. Judy

Much needed break!

Long time since I posted, but it was time
to take a break! Working behind a desk is
hard enough, but when a computer screen is
glaring back it can become soooo monotonous!

blink and breathe!

My famous motto when I feel like my shoulders
are so tight I need a massage therapist standing
behind me all day long, working out the achy
kinks in my shoulders.

I find that by blinking rapidly, and taking
long deep breaths helps to relieve muscle
tension. 5 reps of blinking rapidly, and
5 reps of slow deep breathing. Feels much
better!

I took a long break from the computer world
to work on a project in the caribbeans.
Love those beaches!

Now I've settled back into the routines of
day to day living, I realized I actually missed
it. There's something about working a full day
and accomplishing something that feels great!

What do you feel great about each day you
get up?

Did you hear about the movie where they put
words that were taped on a glass of water?
When they checked the water, they found that
it actually changed molecular structure according
to the words taped to the glass. So if the word
was "hate" it would change into a nasty, ugly
molecular structure. If the word was "love",
it had beautiful patterns.

Hmmmm... does this have anything to do with
how we talk to one another? Or even how we
talk to ourselves??

I find that the more I talk to myself and say,
"Yes, I feel great! I can do this!" that I
have the fortitude to push through on those
super hard tasks. It takes effort sometimes.
Old lies come into my head of old failures.
Sometimes I have to repeat it a million times
an hour, but when I do, I feel TONS better.
It works!

Matthew 4:4 talks about the word of God -
now those are words that I can live on and
feel like I can have the strength to live
life to the fullest!

Until next time,
Dr. Judy
