Can Salt Be Good for Your Asthma?

I just recently read a book about Himalayan salt
and was impressed. The book was called Water and Salt
and written by German docs who had a tremendous amount
of studies to prove that the right kind of salt can
help the heart, lungs, bowels, etc.

Just about everyone says their product is the best
thing since sliced bread. That's not what was so
impressive.

One of the researchers took a couple of boys with
severe asthma issues down into a salt mine. Within
a few hours they could breathe clearly and had
absolutely no congestion.

When they left the salt mine, congestion came back.
He figured out that if he could have them drink the
salt in water, it would help their asthma. He was
right - it did!

I know from clinical experience it's extremely
difficult working with asthmatics who are on inhalers.
It's scary to them to think that they wouldn't be
able to use it, even though they hate using them.

I've also learned that the lungs need a tremendous
amount of minerals to heal. Herbs don't usually
work because most people with asthma are worried
they'll get an allergic reaction that could trigger
their asthma.

Most alternative medicine therapies don't seem to
help either because again, they're scared to get
off their inhalers to allow healing to take place.

However, when they can take salt, in its most
natural form they would be absorbing the rich
minerals to help their lungs heal. It's easy to
take and it's not too expensive.

I've been personally taking it and definitely
see a difference in energy, but I don't have
asthma. Would love to personally see those who
do check out this information and let us know
how it goes.

Hyperbaric Chamber Results

As always when a new therapy starts getting popular,
a lot of debate gets stirred up. Hyperbaric Oxygen
Therapy is no exception.

Look folks, hyperbarics have been around for over
300 years! This is not a new kid on the block. As
scientists and researchers learned all that the
chamber can do, they started promoting it for many
diseases.

Some people got well.

Some people didn't.

Right now, autistic kids are getting a huge boost
using the hyperbaric chamber. The question is does
the 'mild' chamber really worked compared to the
bigger chambers that have more pressure.

I had the same concern. I wanted to get the facts.

So I attended a symposium a couple of years ago
where doctors and researchers came from all over
the world to discuss if hyperbaric chambers really
do work for all these different illnesses as well
as the debate over mild versus deep chambers.

World renowned doctors like Gunnar Heuser, MD, Ph.D.,
from Sweden, Dr. David Steenblock (the stroke doctor
from California), Dr. Frank Morales (from Mexico), and
Dr. Ignacio Fojgel, M.D. from Argentina were presenting
their research using both the mild and deep chambers.

You know what I came away with?

They both work!

It all depends on the illness, how long someone has had
it, and what other therapies they are combining their
healing program with.

Hyperbaric chambers are not the end all and be all of
therapies. For any illness, you MUST use a combination
of therapies. Infrared sauna, ozone, ionization, as
well as quality supplementation are also extremely
effective to use.

I have personally found a company that has new chamber
out that is a 'mild' chamber but instead of 1.3 ATA
they now have it at 1.5 ATA. This simply means that
there's more pressure going into your tissues to
saturate it with oxygen. They are also very affordable.

I recently had a 51 year old woman injure her knee
during exercise go into the chamber. After only 2
sessions she immediately felt 80% improvement. Was
she 100% healed? No! She has to still work on
strengthening her other muscles, stretch slightly,
and do other things to heal. But to get an 80%
improvement is still phenomenal.

That's why it has become so popular with athletes
who have to get back onto the playing field after
their injury.

Look into it, do your research. If you have a
chronic condition, it might be able to help your
body heal.

Hyperbaric Chamber is In!

My hyperbaric chamber has finally arrived
and I'm so excited! I've used these for
years in my clinic, but when I closed, I
sold my chambers. It's been hard not having
it with me.

But now I have a new company I'm working
with that has created a hyperbaric chamber
with more pressure (for better results)
as well as much more affordable.

Lots and lots of people are oxygen deprived
due to stress, pollution, sitting in an
enclosed office all day. One of the great
things about the chamber is that is
saturates the body with oxygen - instantly
people feel refreshed, sleep better, and
just have an overall relaxed feeling.

I'll be putting a few people in this week
and I'll report back how they do....

Until next time,

What to Do When You Don't Know What To Do

Lately, it seems everyone I speak with is feeling
a bit lost. And it's not just about the economy
either! I hear comments like, "I want to travel
but don't really know where I want to go - or
if its even safe" or "I still don't know what
I want to be when I grow up"

Mind you, these are all people in their 40 plus
years!

The book - Purpose Driven Life - was a big hit
because people thought it would show them their
purpose in life.

I read it out of curiosity and didn't see where
the 'purpose' could be found.

I'm not bashing the book by any means, its just
that for me it has to be laid out very clearly.
Like a blueprint on life! Now if someone makes
one of those they could be rich!

The reason I bring this whole topic up is that
when people come me with their chronic sickness,
I usually ask them what their purpose is. Because
I've learned that if people don't know what to
do in their life, there's really no sense in
waking up in the morning except to pay the bills.

Now that's a boring life!

Once I can see a persons gifts or help them
see what their strengths are, I can show them
ways to use those gifts.

So if you're struggling with not knowing what
to do - figure out what you like to do. Talking
with people or not talking to people? Being
outdoors versus being indoors? Living in a house
versus apartment?

All these factors seem small, yet they can make
a huge difference in your life!

If you're a talker for example and you're doing
paper work at your job, how are your skills
being used? Not very effectively! You need to
be in a job where you're interacting with
people!

If you're an outdoorsy type person and yet stuck
working in a cubicle, you'll be miserable. If
you feel miserable, your immune system can get
low and the next thing is constant sore throats,
colds, fevers, etc.

Get in a quite place this week to see what your
strengths are...then be ready to make a change!
More on that next time!

Great health always!

Natural Hormone Help for Hot Flashes

Hot flashes can be annoying! Especially if you
live in warm weather. But even more concern is
what to do about them.

Unfortunately, I've found that the older we get the
less time we take for ourselves. We tend to work, work,
work -work at our job, work at home, it just
never seems to stop.

All this work does major damage to the hormone
producing glands. They just can't keep up!

The result? Hot flashes, night sweats, weight
gain to name a few symptoms.

Then the weird stuff like - rashes, irritability,
allergies, insomnia, and more....

What To Do?
My pat answer in my clinic was to say "pick up
two tickets for a one way trip to Hawaii where
you can drink pina colada's everyday"!

Well, that's not reality I guess for most
of us! So the next thing is to plan on ways
to take care of yourself.

One day a week, claim it for yourself. Do the
things it takes to relax and clear your head
of all the problems you're dealing with.

Other than that, I do recommend the over the
counter progesterone cream - effective for
most women along with traditional herbs for
menopause like black cohosh, chaste berries,
wild yam, and maca.

Evening primrose and borage oil have been
proven to be very effective for breast tenderness
or soreness. They can be taken in capsule form.

In the meantime, relax! This is the #1 remedy
for hot flashes or night sweats.

Until next time,
Dr. Judy

How Safe is Do- It- Yourself Alternative Medicine?

So many people ask me:
"Are herbs really safe to use??"

"How about those 'crazy therapies' like
Ionic foot baths or ozone therapy or
hyperbaric oxygen?? I read on the internet
they don't really work!"

"What about this vegetarian stuff?
Don't you think we need to eat meat?"

I can fill a book with all the questions
people ask me about alternative medicine.

I think people are afraid.

Using therapies that are not 'proven' by
the FDA or medical establishment seems to
instill a fear in people that it's not safe.

However, there are more misdiagnoses and
side effects from medications than you can
shake a stick at!

The FDA and AMA stamp of approval does not
not mean it's safe for us!

I'm a strong believer that anyone can use
common sense to take care a large majority
of their health issues.

I've done it on myself.

I've raised my children that way (and yes,
they're all still alive and kicking in
their 20 something years). I ran my clinics
this way.

I'm also a strong believer in choice.

If YOU don't feel comfortable attempting to
fix your health issues, or you feel you need
a definite diagnoses from your physician, go
for it!

But there are many, many safe ways to get your
body strong and healthy using herbs, foods,
lifestyle, and safe therapies that don't
cause any side effects whatsoever.

The key point to remember is to use common
sense. Using herbs and foods are easy to do.
They've been used in healing for centuries.
Doing a bit of research on the internet can
easily tell you how to use them effectively.

It's not hard using the right healing tools.

What might be harder is standing firm on your
convictions. Co-workers...family members....
friends can be well meaning when they say
you need to get medication. But remember,
the buck stops with you. If you don't feel
comfortable taking medication, take a look
around at your options.

Can your migraines be taken care of using a
more natural approach? Absolutely!
Do you think you want to get a check up to
see if it can be something more serious?
Absolutely!

I just had this very scenario from a young
friend who had tremendous migraines come
on suddenly.

She smokes....
Under lots of stress at work....
Drinking alcohol while on asthma meds...

I encouraged her to make the lifestyle changes
but she was convinced 'something is seriously
wrong' so had an MRI done.

Nothing showed up.

Not surprised.

She then she worked on the lifestyle changes
and guess what? Yep! Headaches gone!

It's your body - you can find out what's wrong
with it, but most of the time you already know.
Take a re-evaluation of your situation then
look at your alternatives. It can save you a ton
of time and money!

Are Salads Healthy for Everyone?

Not really.

Salads are great when:
~ it's hot out and you need to cool down
~ you're not sick
~ you don't add a ton of rich salad dressing
~ you can digest it well
~ you add lots of veggie varieties
~ it's organic, fresh, crisp

Salads are not great when you're just starting to
switch over to a healthier lifestyle.

Why?

Because if your diet has been eating hamburgers, chips,
and all other processed fast foods, it's a major stress
to have a salad. You'll end up with a huge bloated belly
along with lots of gas. I know I wouldn't want to be
around you!

I've found that when eating salads when I'm relaxed,
have time to chew well (salads take a long time to
chew did you ever notice?), or just feeling too hot to
eat anything else.

Instead, eating slightly steamed veggies if the weather
is 50 degree's or colder is easier on your body. The
steaming takes a little bit of the cellulose and breaks
it down so it's easier for your digestive system. It
also feels more nurturing to eat veggies steamed when
it's been a long stressful day at work!

After awhile, when you're feeling stronger, it's
fine to have all the salads you want. That's when the
true healing takes place - absorbing the nutrients
from the fresh veggies is key to health.

Little Known Secrets About Detox

There are sooo many Detoxification programs out
there it's hard even for me not to get overwhelmed!
But I've learned that it's best just to keep it simple.

5 Elimination Systems
There's only 5 ways your body gets rid of toxins:
bowels
kidneys
lungs
skin
lymphs/liver - more on this later

So then what's the purpose of detox?

After doing a test on myself using a high frequency
maching that tests for thousands of things plus
doing blood, urine, saliva tests...I learned that
I was full of toxins!

I was surprised!

I do monthly detox programs and aggressive detox
at least every 3 months. So how did I end up with
so much toxins in my organs??

An eye opener was all the biological poisons
that are out there from water, air, soil. It's
absolutely unavoidable! And after awhile, it
builds up in our body because there's so much
of it.

Bowel Detox
This is simply using colon hydrotherapy along
with herbs to clean all 6 feet of the large
intestine out. I've never heard any of my teachers
say that products alone can do an effective cleaning.
That would be like cleaning your house without a
broom! You can dust, but you still have to use a
broom to pick up the mess!

Kidney Detox
Herbs are great for kidney cleanse. Juniper
berries, uva ursi, and cleavers are the best.

Lung Detox
Deep breathe by doing strenuous exercising helps
to clean out the lungs like nothing else out there.

Skin Detox
Dry brushing and sweating. I've recently been
doing Far Infared Sauna with Ozone therapy and
can't believe how much I'm sweating. It feels
great afterwards!

Lymphs/Liver
Your lymphatic system is there to hold toxins
and keeping them from harming your body. Liver
is more like a filter so neither one technically
eliminates toxins from your body but I throw
them together since they're so important to
take care of.

Exercise for the lymphs is the best way to
keep them healthy. Stretching is especially
beneficial.

Liver cleanses are traditionally the olive
oil and fresh lemon drinks but I would warn
everyone to be cautious since this can cause
severe nausea.

Overall the main secret to ANY detox is to
continually use therapies, exercise, and herbs
to eliminate toxins. With so much poison coming
in to our body through food, air, water, chemicals,
it's vital to your health.

Hyperbaric Therapy Should Be Required

Sadly, I just heard of a 'young man' (52 is still young
in my books!) who had a stroke about 3 years ago. The
doctors only gave him medications, which never helped him.
He ended losing everything...house, job, wife....when
he could have been taken care of if he only knew.

Hyperbaric chambers have been around for hundreds of years
and used for anything from acute mountain sickness, carbon
monoxide poisoning, to strokes and cancer.

I used to use these in my clinic in California and saw
excellent results with stroke patients. But most people
couldn't afford them at the hospitals since they charge
up to $300/treatment! Wow! And most stroke patients need
about 40 to 60 treatments. You do the math!

I had the mild portable chambers which everyone in the
medical community laughed at saying it wasn't strong
nearly as effective as the bigger, deeper compression
chambers.

The way I see it, any therapy that gets oxygen to the
brain will help. The key is to saturate the area that
has been damaged with enough oxygen so it can be healed.
It might take a little longer, but the mild chambers
worked just fine.

It should be required for all stroke patients, then
they'd have a fighting chance!

Health & Wellness Industry is Nuts!

I've been talking with naturopaths in the health
& wellness field for 20 years plus. We're all
saying the same thing...supplements are not
enough anymore! Eating well is not enough
(who knows if the food is truly organic?)

This is a confirmation for me.

The first days when I opened my clinic (about
15 years ago) I used to see patients with just
a few complaints - chronic sinus, migraines,
rashes, fatigue...

Now - they have 5 or 6 things wrong with them
all at the same time or just a step away from
cancer.

Herbs alone won't help.

The best supplements alone won't help.

And we're way past saying eat right and
exercise you'll be fine.

While all these are a start for those who want
to prevent disease, the other 99% of the population
with degenerative disease are in deep trouble!

The message from the media is
'everything in moderation'.

I can see moderation if you have no illness
whatsoever and no history of family illness.
I'm certainly not in that category and I
know most people aren't there either.

It's time to get aggressive with our health.
Work less (I've never seen a job heal anyone)
play more, rest more, enjoy life more as
well as using:
~ oxygen therapy - hyperbarics, ozone
~ detox therapy - infared sauna
~ chelation therapy - oral or I.V.

Emotional Eating Hard for Women

Just attended a great meetup.com
that had about 10 women sharing their struggles with
eating emotionally.

The biggest struggle?

Using food as comfort when we're mad, sad, or
even when we're glad!

Why are we using food to comfort ourselves?

I know that I eat when I'm both very happy,
(celebrating with a Mrs Field's chocolate chip
cookie is the cat's pajamas!) or if I'm feeling
down in the dumps (usually when I'm tired).

My thinking is that using food is handy, quick,
easy, and makes us feel good temporarily. But in
reality, we're just in denial or afraid to look
at the root cause of why we're using food in
the first place!

As I've said before, I think that if we have
a strong, loving, support system that we're
not so tempted to turn to food. When we can
pick up the phone to pour our hearts out to
someone who we know really cares...the bowl
of ice cream doesn't seem as satisfying.

The trick is to establish strong relationships.
Emails, texting, just doesn't cut it. A live
hug can never replace even the most heart
warming email message. The average number of
hugs the Americans receive is about 2 a day.
In happy, peaceful cultures the a average hug
is about 25-50 a day!

So say good by to using food as your comfort
and say hello to more hugs!

Great health always!

Live Longer, Live Happier

I've always loved to study other cultures.
It's fascinating to me how so many cultures
that are considered third world, or developing
are actually much healthier and happier than
we are.

Denmark was recently voted as the population with
the happiest people in the world! Who would ever
have guessed Denmark? Not me.

In the United States. we're very much into looking
great, having the latest and greatest toy, house,
clothes, and of course looking like we're twenty
something and gorgeous.

But Americans are not too much into talking
about their emotional health. We'd rather take
a pill for that.

We're becoming a nation of isolated house sitters.
We sit in our house watching the mindless box,
eating garbage food, or sitting in front of
the computer screen talking to people we don't
hardly know.

In many other cultures, not all, (only because
they want to be more like us) they visit with
each other more. Talk more face to face. Spend
time with each other.

Loneliness is a HUGE issue in this country.
And this leads to diseases since there develops
a feeling of 'why bother, no body cares about
me?'

It's been proven that other cultures that are
'poor' by our standards who are highly involved
in one another are happier AND healthier!

It's not about owning stuff!
It's not about looking good!

It's all about feeling good enough that you can
reach out to another human being.

Some ways for combating loneliness:
* own a pet - pet parks are great to meet others
* join groups that do fun stuff
www.meetup.com is excellent for this
* go to lunch each week with a co-worker

We are living longer but not happier.

Let's change that!

I for one am going kayaking
this week to meet some more people.

Great health always!

How Drinking Soda Can Destroy Your Health

Drinking soda is one of the worse things you can
possibly do to your body!

The sugar is bad, but the splenda in Diet Soda
is a thousand times worse - it destroys brain cells!

Here's a few facts on Coke I picked up:
Highway patrol carries 2 gallons of coke in their
trunk to remove blood from the road after an
accident.

You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and
it will be gone in 2 days.

To clean a toilet bowl, pour a can of coke in
and let it sit for about an hour, then flush clean.

To remove car battery corrosion, just pour coke
over the terminals.

If coke (and many other soda's will do the same)
can remove and destroy these things, can you
imagine what it will remove in your body?

The active ingredients in soda is phosphoric acid.
It leaches calcium from your bones and this of
course is a major contributor to osteoporosis!

Drink water instead! You'll add years to your life.
Great health always,
Dr. Judy

Depression ...Vitamin D -...and Sun

Winter Blah's Leads to Winter Blue's

No doubt about it...not seeing the sun for more
than 3 days DEFINITELY will effect your emotions.

I know because I lived in Wisconsin for 20 years! That's
20 loooonnnngggg winters! I raised 3 children, had a
health clinic, and ate the very best of the best that
Wisconsin had to offer.

But I know there were plenty of days I did not want to
get out of bed due to the cold, cloudy weather.

Many of my patients who came to see me in the clinic
were on anti-depressants since they just couldn't
cope with the severity of their depression.

I know that eating well, taking supplements, and
exercising were all beneficial. I even tried the
Vitamin D supplements with myself and children.

Bottom line?

We still need sun!

It was amazing how people's moods changed when
they came into my clinic. They even wore
different colored clothes...bright colors, not
their traditional blacks.

I began using full spectrum lighting for many
clients and this helped tremendously. Being
outside though in the sun was by far the best.

Years ago, they actually setup heliotherapy
sessions where they would put the women on
one side of the sanctuary totally naked.
Men on the other.

The purpose was to expose the majority of the
skin to the benefits of the sun.

Now however, we slather on suntan lotion to
keep from getting the sun while taking loads
of vitamin D.

So let's use some common sense here...
1) Do get out into the fresh air and sun
on a daily basis. Even if its cold out,
getting sun on your face is beneficial.

2) If you can't get sun, get a full
spectrum light to sit in front of your
desk for the day.

3) Take vacations often to warm sunny places!
(Personally, I'm moving to Florida to get
my share). Once there, don't slather on
chemically rich suntan lotion, use the
natural stuff.

Until next time,
Dr. Judy,

Do You Really Have Health Rights?

I like to stay in the loop with the latest goings
on - healthcare being my topic of choice. I belong
a bunch of associations, American Holistic Health
being a good one since they let me know what the
legislature is trying to pull behind our backs.

The latest is that the U.S. Dept of Health and
Services wants to implement plans to nationalize
all medical records.

Sounds like no big deal, right?

Think about this...

ALL your medical records would be open for public
viewing, this would be mandatory

If you've ever had the following on your record:
abortion
mental health issues
impotence or ANY sexual problems
labeled as a non-compliant patient
sexual problems

Now what these have to do with your medical record
I don't really know. When I think of medical records
I think blood work, tests done, etc.

IF this passes, it will be fully implemented
by 2014. Wow! How can they automate that in
just 5 years??

Look folks, without getting on my soap box,
my ecouragement to you is to take matters in
to your own hands.

Learn exactly what it takes to be well,
stay well, and stay away from the healthcare
system in every way shape and form!

I haven't been to a medical doctor in 30 years,
but I do all the things I know on a daily
basis to make sure I'm taking care of my
body to the best of my ability.

The most important thing I do?

Not worry!

Your rights may be going down the tube,
but there's no reason to worry! Enjoy
life, rest, have fun, pray for wisdom!

Is Detox Cleansing the Best Way to Health?

I often get people asking me about what is the
most effective way to detox.

In school, we were all taught the value of
detoxing and I figured to be healthy you have
to 'clean house' and get rid of the toxins.

Makes sense right?

But when I opened my first clinic and saw lots
of very, very toxic people walk into my doors,
I thought I had hit pay dirt!

All I have to do is clean them out and they'll
feel healthy! No problem! Easy!

Until...
they started throwing up...
having diarrhea....
passing out....

Oh-oh! I think this is not working!

Die hard natural health professionals will still
say that the vomiting, diarrhea are just ways for
the body to detox. It's necessary in order to be well.

I just don't agree anymore!

I think that when the body is stronger, the
effects of getting rid of the poisons is not
so stressful to the body.

After all, who needs more stress???

So I've since switched my thinking over the
years. I believe that by de-stressing the body
and giving the body super condensed nutrients
in small amounts, it gives the body what it needs
to get ready for the detoxification process.

And it works!

No more vomiting - diarrhea - passing out!
Well ok, sometimes there are those who have
a bit of these symptoms if they are super toxic. But
not for 90% of the people I work with!

My encouragement to you is to work super
hard on de-stressing your body....
~ more restful sleep
~ eating 3 solid nourishing meals daily
~ being in a great work environment
~ having a healthy relationship or two
~ avoiding worrisome situations
~ doing activities that replenish your attitude
etc

Once the de-stressing process is a habit for
the most part, the next step is to get the
nutrients into your body.
greens, nourishing soups, juices, etc

Once you're feeling stronger, that's the
time to detox!

I know when I've turned this around in my
life and with others in my clinic, the
detox was actually much more effective!

Think about it and let me know what you think.
Great health always,

Water Bottle Scare and the EcoSystem

I've been in the alternative medicine field
for over 30 years and I love to watch trends!

One of the latest trend is to do away with
water bottles because the plastic bottles
don't decompose in a timely manner (meaning,
in less than a century). Therefore, so the
media says, we should go back to drinking
tap water, which has been perfectly safe
all along!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for saving the
planet! I believe strongly that we need to
take active daily steps as individuals to
reduce the poisons.

However, this should not come at the expense
of our health!

There's a few reasons that bottled water
became so popular over the years. One
that I was personally involved in was
the Cryptosporidium issue.

In Milwaukee,Wisconsin in 1993 the tiny parasite
wasn't caught by the antiquated water
treatment system and thousands of people's
intestines were invaded. For some, who's immune
system was weak, it meant death. Diarrhea,
nausea, fever, cramps were a few of the
symptoms people had to deal with over the
next several weeks.

Other than the water treatment plants
effectiveness, what about the water
that's sitting in pipes that are
sodered with lead? The lead has been
proven to leach into the water and
children especially have been noted
to have high levels of lead!

Well, that's just a couple of scenarios.
I can go on and on all day about why
bottles water is generally better than
tap water.

However, which bottled water is best??

So after years and years of trying to
decide which water bottling company
to support, I've decided to use an
in house water purifier.

This is much more convenient and cost
effective.

I don't have to feel guilty about buying
water from plastic bottles anymore!

Right now, I jsut get refills from the
local Health Food Store which uses a
carbon, UV, reverse osmosis filter.
I refill glass gallon size jugs to
save even more on plastic.

In the next few months I'm looking into
water purifiers that use RO, UV, as
a minimum. Let me know what you find
and 'll share my finds as we move
along on this water journey!

Focus on Wellness First!

Wellness is not just about physical well-being...
it's emotional, spiritual, mental wellness too!

But I'm not talking about that today.

I am focusing on getting wellness under control
INSTEAD of focusing on material wealth.

Seems that with everyone worried about the
economy, it's all about keeping a hold of
houses, cars, and food on the table.

Yes, that's important!

However, I have been in destitute conditions
a few times in my life. Nothing is worse
than not having your health on top of
money worries!

When I have felt strong physically and
disease free, as I am now...I can handle
so many of life's stresses more easily!

Each and every day I force myself to go
exercise (I hate exercising when it's cold out!)
along with eating well (I hate eating vegetables)
and keeping in tune with what God wants to
bless me with for the day.

It's made a world of difference to be able
to focus on wellness first! I hope you
out it on top of your priority list too!

Great health always,

How to Become a Wellness Pro

Today I woke up and was sore from my workout yesterday.
By simply took my protease and felt better within minutes.
What does it take to know exactly what to do to have
wellness each and every day?

I find that you to be a wellness pro doesn't mean
having a degree - I've seen many sick nutritionists,
naturopaths, etc in this business.

It takes knowing your body and knowing the tools
to use when something is not quite right.

So going back to my sore muscles...I had a number
of options that I knew would work. Like:
~ soaking in epsom salt bath
~ taking calcium/magnesium supplement
~ relaxing in a sauna
~ taking protease (protein enzyme)
~ sleeping more - to rebuild and repair my body
etc, etc

The basic foundation for health is absorbing
your proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

When too much stress is put on your body, you
can't absorb these as easily so your body begins
to steal from other parts.

And when you eat junk foods, especially sugar,
it steals even more vital nutrients!

To become a true wellness pro, you simply
need to pay attention to your body each day
and then supply it with the right nutrients
AND most importantly...rest easy! Don't let
the worries of the day get to you!

Finding a reliable Wellness Website

I have been frustrated with the wellness
websites out there. They all seem to be
saying the same thing...buy the product
and eliminate your pain. Yeah right!

I did go on some big name websites (which
I won't mention here since I'm not a basher),
but they all eventually turned to selling supplements.

To me, that smacks of allopathic medicine.
Have a pain? Take a pill!

I'm all into education so that people can
learn how to take care of themselves.
Knowledge is power! I feel that when you
have the knowledge of what your body needs,
you can apply it. Yes, sometimes it includes
a supplement. And for some people they choose
to take a pill.

But those are not the only options!

There are the basics like...
stop doing the crazy thing you're doing that's
causing your pain!

I see guys with these huge fat wallet they're
sitting on 24/7 for example. They wonder why
they have hip or low back pain! But many times,
they take a pill instead of looking at the
cause. Once they move their wallet from back
pocket to front pocket, no more pain!

Or women will carry these HUGE purses that must
weigh ten pounds. They complain about shoulder
aches, mid back aches, headahes...I simply tell
them to lighten their purses instead of taking a pill.

Some common sense can go a long way instead
of reaching for pills - whether they're natural
or not!

Getting the Right Health Information for Wellness

I find that there's 'health information' and then
there's 'wellness information'. The difference is that
when people are looking for health only they're really
looking for supplements/meds/and all those other
quick fixes.

Wellness is when you're looking to make a
lifestyle change.

This is where I started 30 years ago!

I did try the supplement thing...and spent thousands
of dollars on hair/blood/saliva and every other
analysis available. Then I would take their
recommended supplements, which were never cheap!

I'd felt better for awhile, but the symptoms
eventually came back.

When I opened my first clinic in Green Bay
I quickly saw that people were in the same
predicament. They were in pain, looking for
answers, and thought maybe supplements could help.

But over time, I learned that without a true
lifestyle change, total wellness couldn't be
achieved.

For me, it was being a workaholic, trying to
be a super single mom, and the doctor that
was going to heal the world.

Needless to say, burnout was within a mere 5 years!

Now, I've learned to work more efficiently and
not stress about stuff that can get done later.
My kids are grown and they all survived.
I can't heal the world.

All these realizations came over time. I prayed
a ton for God to show me how to heal from my
'super woman' personality. I can now say that
life is much easier, less stressful! Big bonus
is that I'm disease free! Love that part.

My encouragement to all of you is to read, pray,
take the time to learn what lifestyle changes you
need to make to have your health exactly where
you want it to be.

Great health always!
